International Forum 2009

Get Outside! It’s in our Nature (March 5–8, 2009)
BC’s Second Regional Children, Family & Nature Forum

The purpose of this Forum was to provide an opportunity for academics, researchers, practitioners and youth to mix and discuss this important issue in an informal structured workshop setting. The Forum was sponsored by The Kesho Trust, Mountain Equipment Co-op, Royal Roads University, University of Victoria, Children and Nature Network and the BC Recreation and Parks Association.

Three key outcomes were achieved:

  • the formation of the Child and Nature Alliance
  • the formal signing of the Hatley Park Declaration
  • progress toward a Canada-wide child and nature alliance

Review the proceedings of the forum on the Child and Nature website. There you can also find a copy of the the Hatley Park Declaration.
